Worked on the release of the new iPhone 16e. I was involved in the design of different banners that were translated for different countries across the world, and I was also part of the design handoff of step 0 of the shop.
Summary
The set of banners were created for different platforms and for this project I worked at AKQA, closely collaborating with Art Directors and producers, as well as the Apple team. The set of banners was created for different platforms and shops worldwide. They were all translated into different languages and adapted to different scenarios and screens. I also worked on some components across different devices and applications, such as Apple Maps. This was the first introduction of Apple Intelligence, so there was a series of iterations when it came to the definition of the gradients and different ways of representing them. This whole process was done while working closely with the Apple team designers, CD, Art Directors, producers, dev team, etc.
Role
Sr. Designer
Outcome
The launch materials were published across Apple’s global storefronts and channels. The work shipped in multiple regions with localized versions, and the banner set supported the iPhone 16e during its global rollout. The 16e became one of the strongest performers in its segment, capturing about 7% of U.S. iPhone sales in its first quarter and visuals and components I, as part of the AKQA team, contributed to were part of the first wave introducing Apple Intelligence, which required alignment with the Apple design team to land the new visual language.
